Rajon Rondo Latest News & Updates: Rajon Rondo Reminded Everyone Why He Was Once Considered Top Point Guard in the NBA

Rajon Rondo just reminded everybody why he was once considered as one of the top point guards in the NBA. Rondo delivered a triple-double performance in their 111-105 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. A triple-double is always impressive but it was how he got it that stood out the most.

The 3-time NBA assists champion recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals, and a block. It's his 29th career triple-double and his first as a member of the Chicago Bulls. He ranks third amongst active players in most triple-doubles behind LeBron James' 45 and Russel Westbrook's 46.

It has been a rough couple of seasons for Rondo as he struggled to fit in during his stints with the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings. Now a member of the Bulls, he's looking to redeem himself and prove that his prime isn't over yet.

He missed two games with an ankle sprain but has been very active since his return. In six games since the injury, Rondo grabbed at least eight rebounds per game and tallied at least eight assists in the five of the last six games.

Against the Cavaliers, Rondo came out aggressive and played like it was a playoff game. "I thought Rondo was great all night long," said Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg. "You could hear him yelling 'Run with me' to all the guys in the game," he added.

He gathered his teammates every time he had a chance and constantly gave them instructions. "He's like a quarterback," Taj Gibson said. "...he always see's what's going on in the game. He's always encouraging. He's pushing it," he added.

Rondo lead the charge and the rest of the Bulls were more than happy to go to war with him. If he can go back to anywhere near his all-star form, the Bulls can make some serious noise in the eastern conference.
