Forget Flashpoint, Barry will have to deal with a bigger issue in the midseason finale of this season's "The Flash" TV series. Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg, in an interview, says that the problem is big and they might change the saga.

"The Flash" Season 3: Change in Arc?
Yes, there are chances that the power to be might change the arc to address a bigger challenge in front of Barry and others. "The Flash" Season 3, episode 9 midseason finale will throw a new challenge in front of the heroes and it will take them by surprise.
According to the showrunner, this is something that the team has never faced before.
"The midseason finale (airing Dec. 6) kind of creates a new problem for our heroes that they weren't anticipating, something that they've never faced before," Kreisberg said.
The showrunner added that the threat is so big that they might change the saga from Flashpoint to the new threat.
This new threat would guide the second half of the season.
"It's so big, we're actually considering changing the saga sell, [the opening intro], from talking about Flashpoint to talking about that, because that's really what's driving the episodes for the rest of the season. Flashpoint won't loom as large as the challenge that presents itself in 309," Kreisberg stated.
Talking about Flashpoint, it may have damaged Cisco and Barry's relationship but after the crossover, these two have become good friends.
The showrunner mentioned that the crossover helped Barry and Cisco heal their friendship and it will be good for them as they face the new threat in the midseason finale. Kreisberg assured that Team Flash is in a better to face the new issue.
