NBA News: Dwyane Wade Not Ruling Out Reunion with LeBron James

For the first time since becoming a member of the Chicago Bulls, Dwyane Wade faced his former Miami Heat teammate LeBron James Friday. The 2006 Finals MVP led his new team to a 111-105 win against the slumping Cleveland Cavaliers, which dropped its third straight game. Before the game, Wade spoke about his new team, his former teammate and the possibility of playing with him again.

“I never thought I would play with LeBron. I didn’t think it was a possibility at all,” Dwyane Wade said, adding that while he enjoyed playing with James at the All-Star Games and the Olympics, he never thought they’d play together for an NBA team. “That’s why now I look at younger guys and what they say and stuff like that because you never know what the future is going to hold for you… For me, I’m here and I’m happy to be here but I was happy in Miami as well. It just happened. And you never know what happens in this game.”

Dwyane Wade went on to clarify that he’s not implying that he wants to play with LeBron James again, although, he also didn’t rule out the possibility of a reunion. “That’s not saying I want to play with LeBron again. Let me clearly say that. That is not saying that I want to be somewhere that I’m not. That’s not saying that at all but also I understand how this league works, how this thing goes and people need to know just don’t say never, that’s all.”

On Friday’s matchup, Dwyane Wade tallied 24 points, five rebounds and four assists, while LeBron James had 27 points, five rebounds and 13 assists. James wasn’t too happy with his team following their third straight loss, saying that “The honeymoon stage is over and it’s time to play some real ball.”
