"Divergent" fans are still hoping that rumors about "Divergent Series: Ascendant" movie cancellation is not true and more likely a baseless report. However, there are some who are convinced that the result of the "Divergent Series: Allegiant" box office hit and reviews sealed the of the last installment. But here is a catch, Veronica Roth posted recently an update about her bestselling story. Is this a clue that Tris and Four will return and the cancellation news is over and out?
Cancellation Reports for Publicity?
Rumor has it that the reason for the sudden cancellation of the "Divergent Series: Ascendant" is due to its low ratings on the big screen and it triggers Lionsgate to consider turning the movie into a TV Movie project. This news reportedly upset its star Theo James and Shailene Woodley, even Miles Teller and other cast members. As a result, the original cast reportedly backed out from the project.
On the other hand, there are also rumors that the reason behind the cancellation is due to Shailene Woodley and Theo James feud. GameNGuide reports that the onscreen lovers allegedly had a fight because of Ruth Kearney. The actor's fiance is rumored to be so upset with the closeness of the two stars and is now begging the actor to back out and focus on the preparation of their wedding.
However, these reports are debunked multiple times. There are reports that claim everything is just for the "Divergent Series" publicity. To make it real and gossipy until the last installment arrives in theater.
Moreover, this speculation only lead the fans to think that all these past few months, the "Divergent Series" producers are just using the audience reaction to gain publicity.

According to MTV, "Divergent Series" author revealed on her social media that she made an epilogue about one of the characters in the film--Four.
Th short epilogue named "We Can Be Mended" is supposedly for her own collection only, however, Veronica Roth eventually decided to share it.
In her message, Veronica Roth revealed that the "Divergent Series" is already complete, however, she feels like there was "some of the stories that she left untold".
