Fans will finally have their first hands-on opportunity for Nintendo Switch at a private event in New York which will be held on January 13, 2017. Nintendo's hands-on event for its console-handheld hybrid was announced a few days ago.
A streamed presentation on January 12 will be done right before the Nintendo Switch event which will last for at least 5 hours in New York. The streamed presentation is referred to be Nintendo as its Tokyo webcast. This will offer more details about Nintendo Switch which they remained reticent on since their announcement trailer in Mid-October.
According to Polygon, Nintendo announced in its earlier event that the Tokyo webcast will be held live for both media and investors. The company will reveal the console's price and its exact release date. Nintendo's latest platform is only given until March 2017 to its launch window.
Nintendo still hasn't announced the location of the event or any of its other details. However, the company did stress that it will further emphasize on some of the details that the company intends to announce.
Nintendo Switch will be company's latest flagship after Wii U's poor sales performance in the past years. The company is optimistic about the product as this might probably revolutionize the way people play their console. But fans are getting mixed reactions about the product. According to iDigital Times, a trusted Nintendo insider and Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki, Nintendo Switch will not have the same specs as powerful as the Xbox One and PS4.
This will be a challenge for Nintendo since both PS4 Pro and Xbox One Scorpio will be coming with mid-term chip upgrades, which will make both consoles even more powerful. This will leave Nintendo Switch falling behind its counterparts and may even affect its sales.
