Its platform is possibly for PC and PlayStation. Polygon has claimed that it would be released at 2017, but fans have said that this is too general. Expect "Marvel vs Capcom 4" release date in the second quarter of 2017 before the July EVO 2017 fighting championship.
"Marvel vs Capcom" past installments has X-Men characters. However, game developers have focused more on the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) characters. Polygon reports that "Marvel vs Capcom 4" should expect more characters such as those from "Avengers" and "Guardians of the Galaxy film."

According to Geek, fans will soon see heroes to appear on "Marvel vs Capcom 4" like Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Groot. Here are the ten possible MCU characters that "Marvel vs Capcom 4" may feature. It includes The Broker from "Guardians of the Galaxy" and Malekith who is the dark elf villain from "Thor: The Dark World."
Mickey Rourke's Bird from "Iron Man 2" and the Dora Milaje bodyguard may also be featured in "Marvel vs Capcom 4." MCU characters in the game may also include Mrs. Ant-Man, Mr. Hyde, Jeri Hogarth, Senator Stern, MODOK-Trump, and a playable Kevin Feige.

Mainstay characters with movie rights from Rival Studios will not be featured in "Marvel vs Capcom 4." Hence, fans should expect that characters like Wolverine, Doctor Doom, and Mango Sentinel will not come out in "Marvel vs Capcom 4."
