Deep Down from Capcom could arrive on Xbox One

Capcom has already revealed its upcoming action RPG title Deep Down back during the initial reveal of PlayStation 4. However, new reports now claim that the game might eventually arrive on Microsoft’s Xbox One console as well.

Capcom recently revealed its latest annual report for 2013, ending March 31, 2013, and apparently there was a statement included in the report which read that the company is “moving forward with the development of new title 'deep down' for next-generation consoles, representing the culmination of Capcom technology and our next leap forward.”

This would suggest that Deep Down is a multi-platform title and that the company had more plans whilst “currently developing ‘deep down’, which integrates the latest state-of-the-art technology for next-generation non-portable consoles such as the soon-to-be-released PlayStation 4.″

Later, while discussing about the company’s new Panta Rhei engine, the report stated that, “The counterpart in collaboration for the ‘Panta Rhei’ game engine is the title ‘deep down’ for next-generation consoles. We are pushing ahead with development in tandem with the title development team.”

While Capcom is yet to mention Microsoft’s Xbox One by name, and only referring the title as a game targeted "for next-generation consoles," it doesn’t take that much thought to note that the company is suggesting that the game could be on the way to the Xbox One in addition to its release on Sony’s PlayStation 4.

Capcom’s Deep Down is set in New York in the year 2094 and will feature the ability for future world players to see into the past via memories. In these memories, players will fight their way through randomly generated dungeons filled with a number of enemy encounters. As confirmed, up to four players will be able to join together when online.

The recent trailer revealed for the game (see below) details on the in-game features and it seems like the game employs a similar narrative, compared to that of Ubisoft's massively popular Assassin's Creed series, with a bit of Dark Souls thrown in for good measure.

Deep Down’s gameplay also seems like it has been inspired heavily from one of Capcom’s earlier titles—Dragon’s Dogma, which was praised for its gameplay that revolved slaying giant monsters.

As of now, Capcom is yet to provide an official release date for the game. Check out the trailer below.
