Everyone's busy playing the hell out of "Pokemon Sun & Moon" right now, but despite the hype, Nintendo hasn't forgotten anyone who hasn't been able to get the game yet. For people still playing Generation 6, that is to say "Pokemon X & Y" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire," the company is now making legendary Pokemon Meloetta available.
Meloetta is the final Pokemon in "Pokemon X & Y" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire"'s Pokedex. In order to get yours, all you have to do is get it via Mystery Gift, where it will be available until Christmas Eve, according to Nintendo Life. It's not entirely sure why Nintendo is giving Meloetta out now while everyone's in the middle of the "Pokemon Sun & Moon" rage, but it is part of their efforts to give out rare Pokemon every month via Mystery Gift.
The Meloetta "Pokemon X & Y" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" players will be getting doesn't seem to be super-powerful, by Legendary standards. The Psychic/Normal Pokemon will be level 100, holding a PP Max, and knows the moves Quick Attack, Confusion, and Round. It can also change its type in the middle of battle, according to Destructoid, when it learns the move Relic Song in Snowbelle City in "Pokemon X & Y" or Mauville City in "Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire."
"Pokemon X & Y" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" are not the only "Pokemon" games getting special Mystery Gift Pokemon, of course. Destructoid reports that another Mystery Gift Pokemon, Magearna, is also coming to "Pokemon Sun & Moon" but not until Monday, December 5. Until then, players can still get Ash-Greninja from completing the "Pokemon Sun & Moon" demo, and a Snorlax Z-Crystal Munchlax until January 11.
