"Pokken Tournament" developer Bandai Namco together with The Pokemon Company announced their latest addition their arcade game in Japan. The water-steel type Pokemon Empoleon was confirmed to join Darkrai, Scizor's and Croagunk in its December 15 release.
Empoleon is the full evolution of the Pokemon Piplup and is a Generation IV Pokemon from the Sinnoh region and was suspected to be released last month. The Sinnoh starter Pokemon, Empoleon was expected by the "Pokken Tournament" fans when the dataminers discovered a Darkrai and Scizor to the game's code.
There were no footages or trailer of Empoleon's moveset that were released by the "Pokken Tournament" according to WWG. However, a promotional image was released showing Empoleon's "major side eyes" that was shown when Emopoleon was announced as the latest addition to the game.
Unlike Empoleon, last month Croagunk was announced in a minute-long trailer released by Bandai for the Pokken Tournament which features some moves of the Pokemon. The "Synergy Burst" attack of Croagunk was shown on the preview where he creates a number of clones using Double team to put down its enemy.
Crogunk in "Pokken Tournament" will be a Speed Type Pokemon that will use a lot of projectiles including Poison Jabs and Rock Throw. Croagunk Support Pokemon will still be around where the players can have a Croagunk be supported by another Croagunk.
"Pokken Tournament" might not be having a to Wii U version anytime soon. There has been no official announcement by Bandai Namco whether "Pokken Tournament" will be available for consoles or the DLC platform.
Nintendo has its focus on Nintendo Switch's launch next year which leads the Wii U version of the "Pokken Tournament" left behind. Pokken Tournament was also ignored and was canceled out from the Pokemon's annual video game for next year's season.
