It's not a surprise that fans are rejoicing for the announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2." They have waited for this sequel for six years already and now that's finally been confirmed, fans are looking forward to catching it next year.
According to reports, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be released sometime in 2017. There is no specific date yet but the release window is fall 2017 as "Grand Theft Auto 5" was previously released mid-September. Rockstar Games may potentially follow this pattern for the upcoming sequel. Also, the game will be coming out to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only. There is no word yet regarding a PC release but fans shouldn't lose hope yet.
Reports say that there's still a possibility that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have a Windows PC release but fans who prefer the platform will have to patiently wait for it as it will take some time. The predicted release date for PC is early 2018, that is if Rockstar will follow just like the release of "Grand Theft Auto 5" for PC. The title arrived several months after it hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Speaking of these two consoles, the second installment of "Red Dead Redemption" will not come to these old versions anymore.
As to what fans can expect in "Red Dead Redemption 2," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick divulged little details for the upcoming game. In an interview during an MKM Partners event, he said that he was actually pleased upon getting the announcement of the game. He also said that the trailer that Rockstar released gained a large number of views, which is more than what they expected. Clearly, the anticipation for the open world western action-adventure is very high.
He also shared how the timing is right for "Red Dead Redemption 2." He believes that the second installment will garner the same success that the original title received when it came in 2010. Moreover, he said, "And I think the times are right for a big, sprawling, optimistic view of America again--and that's not meant to be cute."
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected also to have more interesting story elements and gameplay elements as well as emotional depth. Fans should definitely watch out for this.
