"Arrow" Season 5 is bringing another character from NBC's "Constantine" for a cameo appearance. Episode 13 could feature the DC character The Spectre.
Series creator Marc Guggenheim teased the appearance of The Spectre on social media. He took to his Twitter page to post the title for "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 13, which is "Spectre of the Gun." The post may not contain any spoilers for the upcoming episode at first glance.
However, according to Movie Pilot, the title could hint to the cameo appearance of DC's Spirit of Vengeance in "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 13. Likewise, stunt coordinator for "Arrow" James Bradford may have hinted to The Spectre in a previous tweet.
The Spectre would have made its debut in "Constantine" had NBC not canceled the series. The episode "Danse Vaudou" gave a nod to the character through Jim Corrigan. Corrigan saw a vision of himself surrounded by green light, which hints to his future as The Spectre (as was happened to Corrigan in the comics).
Regardless, it seems the "Constantine" character might crossover to "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 13. That is, if Guggenheim and Bradford's tweets are any indication of the character's debut on TV. If The Spectre does appear in the instalment, then it would be the second time the show dived into supernatural territory.
John Constantine himself (Matt Ryan) made his first crossover to "Arrow" Season 4 Episode 5. The series revived the Hellblazer after NBC cancelled "Constantine." Matt returned to reprise his character for a cameo appearance, when Oliver Queen sought his help about bringing Sara Lance back from the dead.
Likewise, the likely cameo appearance of The Spectre in "Arrow" Season 5 proves that Marc Guggenheim is true to his word. The creator has since said that he would love to host "Constantine" or have any character from the series appear on his shows. Who knows, he might bring back Matt Ryan again as John Constantine in future episodes.
