MediaTek has announced new Helio X23 and X27 chipsets in their line of high-powered X2x line with Deca-core CPUs. These mobile chip processors allow smartphones to have better photography and decreased power consumption.
MediaTek Update: Helio X23 and X27 Comes With Deca-core CPU
According to Phone Arena, Helio X23 and X27 mobile processors use MediaTek tri-cluster setup and feature deca-core CPU. These mobile processors come with two ARM Cortex-A72 cores and ARM Cortex-A53 cores. The two ARM Cortex-A72 cores are for massive workloads and greater performance. On the other hand, the two quad-core sets of ARM Cortex-A53 cores are used for light to medium workloads that -require low-powered performance.
According to GSMArena, MediaTek Helio X23 and X27, mobile processors are manufactured on TSMC 20nm process similar to Helio X20 and X25. MediaTek Helio X23 has a clock speed of 2.3 GHz for Cortex-A72 2x core, 1.85 GHz for Cortex-A53 4x core, and 1.4 GHz for Cortex-A53 4x core. On the other hand, MediaTek Helio X27 has a clock speed of 2.6 GHz for Cortex-A72 2x core, 2.0 GHz for Cortex-A53 4x core, and 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 4x core. These clock speeds yield better performance than Helio X20 and X25.
MediaTek Update: Helio X23 and X27 Features Revealed
MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 GPUs have ARM Mali-T880. Helio X23 is clocked at 780 MHz while Helio X27 is clocked at 875 MHz. With this, Helio X23 and X27 offers 20% higher processing. It also supports 2X LPDDR3 POP with a memory of 800 MHz up to 4 GB of RAM. These mobile processors also come with Cat.6 LTE modem, Wi-Fi AC, GPS/GLONASS/Beidu, FM receiver and Bluetooth.
MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 mobile processors use Imagiq image signal-processing solution, In-System Programming (ISP), and MiraVisionEnerySmart Screen technology. The Imagiq signal-processing solution integrates color and monochrome cameras and depth-of-field applications into a single In-System Programming (ISP). This will allow users to experience smartphones with color and monochrome features and sharper images.
MediaTek Update: Power Consumption Reduced by 25 Percent and 15 Percent
Helio X23 and X27's MiraVisionEnergySmart Screen technology reduces smartphone power consumption required to drive the display by 25%. This is paired with Envelope Tracking Module that matches its output voltage with the signal strength of the amplifier. This will yield 15% reduction of power consumption during peak operating periods.
