It was earlier reported that "The Originals" Season 4 will have its debut after the "The Vampire Diaries" wraps up its final season on March 10, 2017. Fans of the vampire series should not be sad about the final season yet as rumor has it that some of "The Vampire Diaries" characters will crossover to "The Originals" for Season 4.
It seems that Alaric (Matt Davis) and Caroline (Candice King) are coming over to New Orleans to meet up with the Mikaelsons. Nina Dobrev is also rumored to appear in the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 4.
Alaric, although rumored to make just a brief appearance in the upcoming season, will be looking for Elijah to deliver a priceless artifact to him. Caroline, on the other hand, will be going to New Orleans to help Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who was under a curse from the Tunde Blade from the previous season of "The Originals." Whereas Dobrev is rumored to join the show as Petrova doppelganger Tatia.
This is not the first time a crossover happened in the show. Matt (Zach Roerig), Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) also appeared in "The Originals beforehand.
"The Originals" season 4, which was previously reported to air in January 2017, is officially returning on March 17, 2017 at 8:00-9:00PM ET/PT on The CW. Season 4 will open with the Mikaelsons' major debacle - illness for hopeless moment along with "The Originals" season 4,: "Legends of Tomorrow" on Jan. 24, "Riverdale" on Jan. 26, "The 100" season 4 on Feb. 1, "Reign" on Feb. 10, and "iZombie" season 13 on April 13.
Meanwhile, The CW also confirmed other shows' release dates. According to a report from TV Line, this premiere date is a week after its original series "The Vampire Diaries" season 8's finale episode ends on March 10.
