In the conversation Elliot was asked about his opinion on what makes the society disappointing, the antagonist answered that the recent Presidential Election does. According to a source, the presidential election will be covered on "Mr. Robot" Season 3 but not that much. Other recent happening and news would also make its way into the movie giving it a more reality based outlook for the viewers.

This is actually still pretty high since the show's rating has dropped from 0.48 on for Season 1 to 0.30 in Season 2.
