'WWE NXT' Latest Results: New NXT Champion Samoa Joe Faces Off With Tye Dillinger In The Main Event!

It's been more than a week since "WWE NXT"'s last big event, "NXT Takeover: Toronto." For the most part, the status quo changed in that big event: new NXT Tag Team Champions were crowned, a new dominant team also emerged, and the NXT Championship changed hands. It took the show a week to recover and take a look at the changed landscape, and it all seems exciting moving forward.

Now that "WWE NXT" is back in the era of Samoa Joe, the re-crowned NXT Champion needed to establish his dominance once again. Tye Dillinger, who lost to "WWE NXT" newcomer Bobby Roode at "NXT Takeover: Toronto," challenged the champion to a non-title match to prove something to himself. Dillinger said that if he doesn't beat Samoa Joe on this episode, he's not sure if he still belongs in the company. After a hard-fought match, Tye Dillinger still lost to Samoa Joe as he locked in the deadly Coquina Clutch.

In other "WWE NXT" results as reported by Wrestlezone, NXT Women's Champion Asuka, who had just defeated returning WWE veteran Mickie James, defeated local talent Nicole Matthews. Eric Young, the leader of new "WWE NXT" faction SANitY, defeated No Way Jose in a singles match. The match was made after SANitY destroyed the three-man team of No Way Jose, Rich Swann, and Kona Reeves in last week's episode of "WWE NXT." The NXT Championship rematch between Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura in a live show in Osaka, Japan next week is also announced.

As far as rumors go, this month's "WWE NXT" tapings set up a big Fatal Four-Way match to determine a new #1 contender to the NXT Championship, according to spoilers posted by Wrestling Inc. It's unsure as to whether the Fatal Four-Way match is happening at "NXT Takeover: San Antonio," or at an episode of the show before it.
