Konami has already revealed the upcoming Castlevania: Mirror of Fate HD for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but the game's fate on PC is still hanging on by a thread. It can be assumed that since Konami is making the HD version of the game available for current generation consoles, a release on the PC won't be far behind. While not revealing anything particular related to the PC, Konami acknowledges as much.
When asked by a fan on Twitter whether Konami is seriously considering skipping the PC platform for the launch of the game and if PC fans will not be treated to the complete Castlevania saga, the head of UK Studio at Konami Digital Entertainment David Cox stated: "No announcement today but we are seriously looking into it."
While we are not jumping to conclusions about the game's potential PC release, it seems likely. In the event a PC version proves to be true, just what is taking Konami so long?
Additionally, when another fan took to twitter asking whether Konami is waiting to see if the PC version of Lords of Shadow is successful before performing a successful port of Castlevania: Mirror of Fate on PC, Cox replied, "Not the case. We are seeing how we can manage with the people we have and technically what issues we might face."
Konami is eagerly expected to reveal something on this matter in the coming days. Konami has already announced that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate HD will be released on Oct. 31 on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
As the title denotes, Mirror of Fate HD is basically an upgraded port of the original 3DS version of the game that was released back in March.
"Trevor Belmont, a knight of the Brotherhood of Light sets out to avenge the death of his mother at the hands of his own father, who has now returned from years of exile to take up residence in a mysterious castle. What was once Gabriel Belmont now stands a powerful vampire called Dracula. Dracula has declared war upon the Brotherhood and thus the scene is set for a cataclysmic showdown between Father and Son," the official description for the game states.
