The return of Snake in the next Metal Gear Solid title may be a big thing, but that wasn't highlighted in the recent Gamescom that happened in Cologne, Germany. Nonetheless, the legend of Snake is never that far off from limelight, and now there's more information on the upcoming game.
To begin with, remember all those weird and not-so-funny jokes that were so closely associated with every Metal Gear title? Well, Hideo Kojima recently took to Twitter where he confirmed that these jokes are set to stay on, confirming: "Since the theme of my next project is 'Revenge' I've tried to stay serious but I couldn't help including stupid jokes again."
And since Kojima believes that humor and jokes form an integral part of the franchise, Kojima thinks that such humor is important to keep up the essence of the series. He stated in another tweet: "My team members positively accepted & said that's the essence of MGS but I'd better keep my mouth shot to Yoji in case he resists."
Gamingbolt found more details related to the title, and how a character named 'Code Talker' plays an important part: "Moving ahead, we have some new details on 'Code Talker'. Not much is known about this character apart from the fact that he is being voiced by Jay Tavare, popular for his role of Vega in the Street Fighter movie."
"But recently, a fan asked Tavare on his Facebook page about the progress of Metal Gear Solid 5, to which he replied: "We are still working on the game. In fact I am back in the studio next month but almost there. Code Talker is an awesome character, he speaks Navajo and English and the challenge for me was to get the Dine language correct and I had to get help from my Navajo Elders."
The events of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain takes place shortly after the events of Peace Walker in 1975. The player will once more control Big Boss/Snake, who is currently working on behalf of his own organization, the Militaires Sans Frontières, and is sent to infiltrate an American black site on Cuban soil called Camp Omega.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is currently in development for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
