"House of Cards" Season 5 will air on Netflix in the first quarter of 2017. The "House of Cards" series is speculated to deal with the potential death of its lead character Frank Underwood.
"House of Cards" Season 5 plot will not be based on the current headlines despite its similarities with what has been going on in real life politics, "House of Cards'" star Mike Kelly explained in an interview. "House of Cards'" star Kelly has a little clue on what the series will cover, but he said that the script has been written a year before and inevitably, several things will come to fruition every year.
"House of Cards" also received its well deserved Best Drama Emmy nomination. 'House of Cards'" star Kelly, on the other hand, has been recognized by the Emmy voters for a second time with a Best Supporting Actor nomination this year.
"House of Cards'" star Kelly said that he didn't expect that he will be nominated again and he was at the beach, spending summer with his wife and family when he heard of the announcement last Thursday, July 14. His wife was also surprised about the news but when they found out, even his kids jumped in excitement even if they don't know what it's about.
Meanwhile," House of Cards'" star Kelly confirmed that he has worked back for a day on the set of "House of Cards" Season 5, where Beau Willimon's presence was evidently missed. He said that it broke his heart to see the former showrunner has left "House of Cards" because aside from being his boss, he considers Willimon a good friend. However, Kelly is also confident that they will still be able to make a great "House of Cards" show with new showrunners Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese, Variety reported.
