"Switched at Birth" Season 5 will begin on Jan. 24 and Freeform has revealed the a teaser of the new installment in the American drama series. The promo shows milestones and events in the girls lives. Regina reveals a surprise, Toby and Lily are ready for the next stage in their relationship, and Daphne and Mingo make a big mistake.
The "Switched at Birth" Season 5 series features actress Katie Leclerc as Daphne, actress Vanessa Marano as Bay and Constance Marie as Regina, Bay's mother. The teaser shows Bay and Daphne coming back from China after receiving a mysterious call in the last season. Regina has a major surprise this season who has a hot, young boyfriend. The promo shows Regina who is locking lips with the young man named Luca, who is actor Michael Galante. Regina's young boyfriend appears closer to her daughter's age than hers, Just Jared reported.
"Switched at Birth" Season 5 also features actor Lucas Grabeel as Toby and Rachel Shenton as Lily whose characters are getting married in "Switched at Birth" Season 5. In the trailer, Lily is moving along in her pregnancy and shows her engagement ring to everyone. The couple has previously been loaded with problems after discovering that Lily and Toby's child will be born with a birth defect. It was believed that they would end up separating since they were still unprepared for this sudden turn of events in their young lives, according to report.
The "Switched at Birth" Season 5 series also portrays actor Adam Hagenbuch as Mingo who is Daphne's boyfriend in the film. In "Switched at Birth" Season 5, the two are shown in a party but will end up with angry black classmates. One of the students can be seen criticizing Daphne and Mingo who were wearing Lil Wayne costumes, because it was seen as an insult. This incident became worse when the couple posted a photo of themselves as Lil Wayne on social media, that was flooded with hate comments. Daphne then tells Mingo that it was better for her not to return to Kansas because of this.
