George R.R. Martin Offers New Update On 'The Winds of Winter' Progress, Teases Sixth 'ASOIAF' Book Has Plenty Of (Jon) "Snow"?

The world is still waiting on "The Winds of Winter", but fans can rest assured that George R.R. Martin is fully committed to finishing the sixth "A Song of Ice and Fire" book as soon as possible. The author has just offered a new update on the highly anticipated novel, which could keep him away from the public for a very long time.

Fans already have some ideas on what will happen in "The Winds of Winter", since George R.R. Martin loves sharing some new chapters in his public appearances. However, it looks like the "ASOIAF" author is keeping the progress to himself. Nevertheless, it has been revealed that "TWOW" will feature a lot of "snow".

George R.R. Martin Refuses More Public Appearances Until 'The Winds Of Winter' Completion

The "ASOIAF" writer has just confirmed on his LiveJournal that he is heading for Mexico for an appearance at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. George R.R. Martin confirmed that the event will be his last in 2016 "until WINDS is completed." This could mean that he will be out of the public eye until "The Winds of Winter" is ready to be published next year.

Unfortunately, fans who are looking forward to a new chapter being read at the event will be greatly disappointed. George R.R. Martin responded to a comment in his post, stating that a reading from "The Winds of Winter" is not part of his itinerary. However, an old interview with the "ASOIAF" novelist may have revealed what fans can expect in the book.

George R.R. Martin Teases Plenty Of "Snow" In 'The Winds Of Winter'?

Wiki Of Thrones has come across an old (like, back in 1999) interview with George R.R. Martin where the author offered a revelation about "The Winds of Winter". Martin basically said "Valar Morghulis" because all characters will end up dead in the fifth novel.

"['The Winds of Winter'] will be just a thousand-page description of snow blowing across the graves," George R.R. Martin revealed in the interview. If so, then why is it taking him so long to finish "The Winds of Winter"?

George R.R. Martin has not yet announced "The Winds of Winter" release date. However, the sixth "ASOIAF" book is expected to be released by 2017.
