A couple of modders have recently transformed "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive." The game now has a refreshing look with a new changing weather system. At present, Dust2 map currently holds a five-star rating on the Steam Workshop.
In the past, there have been certain attempts to add new weather patterns to "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive." Until recently, Luke Millanta and Lewis Palfrey claimed that they have launched the first set ever of weather-altering maps. At the beginning of each round, 10 different weather patterns are randomly selected to fit the game environment according to a Steam.
"Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's" Cache, Dust2, Mirage and Overpass have all been given a makeover with thunder, sandstorms, rain and fog. All of the changing intensities and with a number of special effects. In addition, rain will quench fire around the map and gather into puddles. Heavy rain will fall with intermittent lightning flashes. There will also be Sandstorms that will severely limit visibility.
Millanta told Eurogamer that he has been playing the game since 2005. A couple of years ago, he got into modding. MIllanta now makes professional armament finishes for esports teams like Fnatic and hardware makers such as Razer. The modder further narrated that it was in August when he finally came up with an idea of adding the changing weather conditions to "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive."
Palfrey came in when Millanta realized that he needed help in his idea. He claimed that he had limited time and that his mapping skill is not as advanced as others. Palfrey is popular in the "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" and "GoldenEye: Source" community. The weather is intended to effect play, rounds with a sandstorm force players into closer battles, Mallanta added.
The modder further narrated that when it is raining, players will find it hard to hear the enemies. Also, they will have a hard time seeing the approaching foes without the help of a sniper rifle. He further said that while the enemy may have the edge while sniping, stealthy players can also sneak up and defeat the sniper. So far, the modders are glad that they receive positive feedback about their good work on "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive."
