The OnePlus 3T launched in November 2016 and recently featured a new software update. The company rolled out the OxygenOS 3.5.3 update for the OnePlus 3T, which begins a number of new features and upgrades.
Phone Arena stated that OxygenOS 3.5.3 is the first over-the-air (OTA) update for the OnePlus 3T. The company is expected to hold back on more OTA updates, until the OnePlus 3T receives the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade. In the meantime, the new OS update provides a number of new capabilities, depending on the user location.
In India, the new OnePlus 3T software update now allows emergency calling. Users must press the power button three times to initiate emergency calls. The new OxygenOS OTA update added motion detection and enhanced image capturing quality in its camera, which should address existing issues in the device. Furthermore, the OnePlus community app is now available via the update, after it was introduced in the OnePlus 3 in October 2016.
The new OxygenOS update also updated and improved the touch panel firmware. As a result, touch precision has been enhanced. The GPS library was updated and the location accuracy has been improved more by the OnePlus 3T update. The calling UI and clock have also been redesigned.
The new OnePlus 3T update also delivered several bug fixes and added stability. The OTA will roll out over a span of a few days, so OnePlus 3T users should expect to receive an update notification on different dates, based on their location.
NDTV reported that the OnePlus 3T smartphone is the company's latest flagship model, featuring a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 401 ppi. The OnePlus 3T runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and 6GB of RAM. It has 64GB of internal storage, although not expandable.
The device also houses a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 16-megapixel selfie shooter, and a 3400mAh non-removable battery. The OnePlus 3T runs on the Android 6.0.1 out of the box and is expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat soon. More updates and details on the OnePlus 3T are expected soon.
