Good news for all the loyal fans of "The Big Bang Theory." The sitcom is here to stay for one more season. The show has been onscreen for almost a decade already and it's surviving for another round. But will it last longer than expected?
According to reports, the series has been renewed for a season 11. It's now longer compared to the other popular America sitcom, "Friends." Previous reports suggested that "The Big Bang Theory" will be cancelled due to some issues with the stars. Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki reportedly asked for a raise in their salary but the producers declined.
Rumors also spread that Cuoco will no longer return to "The Big Bang Theory" because she wants to take a break from acting and focus more on starting a family. But reports eventually revealed that Cuoco signed a new contract and all the cancellation speculations have been debunked because CBS announced already that the show will continue on.
It's also said that the series already has an air date for season 11. It's expected to kick off this mid-September 2017 right after season 10 finishes. "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 went on a hiatus but it's reported to be back on Dec. 1 to resume with a new episode.
However, there are speculations going around suggesting that Parson will be departing the show to focus on a project with Freeform. There is no confirmation to this though so fans will have to stay tuned for updates.
As with regards to the season 11 plot, details are currently kept under wraps but fans speculate that Amy's (Mayim Bialik) parents will finally meet Sheldon (Parsons) while Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) will start their new chapter in life with their newborn baby. "The Big Bang Theory" season 11 may also cover Sheldon and Amy's wedding and Stuart (Kevin Sussman) finding a new partner.
