"Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 brings back Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold and Rip Hunter. Rip may not be the same Time Master who viewers saw in Season 1 and Captain Cold may come out as a traitor.
Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who plays Maia aka Vixen, recently confirmed the return of the Legends' former captain. Sellers said Rip Hunter definitely comes back in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. However, he may not necessarily be the same Rip that the team remembers.
"That's sort of what is a big part of the second half of the season," Sellers told Cinemablend.
Does this mean that the Rip Hunter, who disappeared early in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2, is not the same person that comes back? The last time fans saw the Time Master, he disappeared after the team saved New York City from a nuclear blast.
Sellers probably hinted to an alternate version of Rip Hunter, someone who existed in another Earth. Given the connection between "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 and "The Flash" Season 3, it is safe to assume that Flashpoint has also affected the team.
The events in Season 1 also hint that a different Rip returns. The Waverider captain had travelled numerous times to the past and interfered with his past life. Perhaps the consequences of his meddling finally manifest themselves in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2.
Meanwhile, another character also returns to "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. Captain Cold returns from the dead, thanks to Flashpoint. However, he may not appear as an ally to the Legends. There are speculations that Captain Cold returns as a villain.
Gamenguide previously reported that Captain Cold appears in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 Episode 11. The title for the episode is "Turncoat," which means a traitor. Snart could return as a villain and betray his former friends.
