It is but a fact that "Avatar" has been one of the most 3D movies that made the release of "Avatar 2" a highly anticipated one. Fans of the "Avatar" are all ears about the release date of "Avatar 2" and its plot. Now here is what we know so far!
According to reports, John Landau explained that the delay in the release date of "Avatar 2" rotted on the fact that the production aims to exceed its first series in terms of 3D effects. John Landau mentioned that with their collaboration with Peter Jackson's WETA technology to provide the best 3-dimensional effect so far, the process takes a long time that they cannot provide a definite release date for the movie. It can be remembered that James Cameron stated that the release date of "Avatar 2" is the least of their concern so far, it is undeniable that the release date of "Avatar 2" is an important thing for the fans.
This being said, John Landau finally revealed that the release date of "Avatar 2" would be on December 21, 2018 through a Twitter post. Landue also said that "Avatar 2" will be having numerous underwater scenes, something that "Avatar" doesn't have. On the other hand, "Avatar 2" will still be focusing on the sub-plots of "Avatar".
On the other hand, Game Spot reports that James Cameron's initial plan for "Avatar 2" is to make it a 3D movie that doesn't need any 3D glasses. "I'm going to push " James Cameron stated "Not only for better tools, workflow, high dynamic range and high frame rates--the things we are working toward. I'm still very bullish on 3D, but we need brighter projection, and ultimately I think it can happen--with no glasses. We'll get there."
"Avatar" is one of the most successful blockbuster film ever made, having $2.7 billion profit worldwide, surely "Avatar 2" needs to surpass this number since investment on it is far greater.
