The costumes in "The Magicians" Season 2 are inspired by the fantasy series, "Narnia". The season 2 trailer 2 also references HBO's "Game of Thrones."
As you can see in the latest trailer, someone mentioned, "enemies from the north" and that character will make of similar enemies mentioned in "Game of Thrones". Aside from that, Margo (Summer Bishil) mentioned "Eliot Ned Stark" that sounds like a reference to "Game of Thrones" character Ned Stark (Sean Bean).
In other news, Syfy has been aggressive with ordering new seasons. Previously, the network ordered a second season for "12 Monkeys" and "The Expanse."
"12 Monkeys" Season 1 was premiered in 2015. Apparently, this series has performed well as its Season 3 is in the works. The show will return in 2017 as well for its Season 3, according to TV By The Numbers. "12 Monkeys" Season 3 will run 10 episodes and Co-creator Terry Matalas will continue as the showrunner.
