Android 7.1.1 Nougat is set to unveil for Nexus 6P on Dec. 6. The upcoming update reportedly comes with 650MB and build number NMF26F, including security patch update.
The Nexus 6P users can download the Android 7.1.1 Nougat once their device has been fully charged. It is also recommended to backup some important data like contacts, messages, photos among others. Users will be notified when the Firmware Over-The-Air update is already available for download from the System updates option in About tab on the phone Settings menu.
Android 7.1.1 Nougat update is going to be progressively unveiled. According to reports, 10,000 mobile phones will be chosen at random to qualify for the update beginning on the first up to the third day. The users would either be notified through the FOTA Push Message or they can just check manually for the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.
On the other hand, day four to 13th will be allotted to select an additional 10 percent of the remaining group every day, and users would need to check for the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update manually. On the last day, day 14, the update will be available for all devices.
That being said, Huawei Nexus 6P is expected to get the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update by Dec. 20, although no official statement has been released yet by Google regarding this. Nevertheless, the new update is believed to bring new features like image keyboard support and app shortcuts, Yahoo reported.
Meanwhile, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is also reported to being prepared for the Samsung Galaxy series. This was shown in the beta testing program launch for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphones.
Android 7.0 Nougat reports also suggest that the company has begun its development of the software update for the older-gen Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5, according to report.
