White Xbox One model leaked – Microsoft now helping you with interior decoration

Here’s some brand new information that has been leaked for Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One gaming console, and the new information is nothing related to in-built features or added advantages, but solely related to the console’s external appearance.

A photo of a newly tweaked Xbox One design has surfaced on the web, showcasing the console in a bright white. The image is of an alleged white Xbox One development kit that developers earlier received.

No disrespect to this white version of the console, but how many prefer the original black outlook? We'd guess quite a few, as the new white colored device looks more like it's been designed to match your apartment with matching drapes. We're not saying that a console should always be black, or should arrive in darker shades. But there’s just something about the design of the Xbox One that doesn’t really look good in white. Too "Nintendo." But that’s just our opinion.

With respect to this new model, and the previous striped versions for the same, an Xbox One developer revealed on Reddit: “The zebra ones were also earlier devkits. We've gone through several revisions since the original alpha kit (giant server case) and the current one we have looks like the launch version.”

Fans and critics have already seen a number of discarded Xbox One prototypes in the past, but this newest leak is probably the most interesting of them all, as the console is quite new and doesn’t feature the somewhat abstract designs of the previously leaked development kits. This means that the white version could be given a green light for release.

It's interesting that Microsoft has actually listened to gamers' complaints regarding the Xbox One’s standard black look, often considered as too simple and minimal, alongside an uninspired design. But in the grand scheme of things, it’s far better to complain about what color looks better on the Xbox One, rather than Microsoft’s controversial DRM policies that created havoc for the company before finally reneging.

The Xbox One is currently slated for a November 2013 release, although a specific date is yet to be mentioned.
