The Samsung Galaxy S8 is tasked to regain the confidence of the smartphone consumer market following the disaster that the Galaxy Note 7 left. Daunting as it may, the best the Korean company is fill up the next flagship with features that will hopefully not overload its battery.
Samsung is expectedly keeping tabs with the movements of Apple, starting off with the iPhone 7. While the current flagship from the Cupertino company comes with limited innovations, Samsung is likely aware of the changes coming for the iPhone in 2017, BGR reported.
Like other Apple competitors, there is no assurance that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will steal the show. Expected to be integrated are the iPhone 7 features such as 3D Touch support and a dual-lens main camera. How about the alleged personal voice assistant that Samsung has yet to add to their smartphone lineup?
Samsung may have something special with its personal voice assistant for the Galaxy S8 courtesy of Viv. The electronics giant acquired the startup behind the Siri-like products, hinting at something different for the next Samsung Galaxy S flagship.
The Samsung Galaxy S8’s AI assistant will reportedly have two personalities – a male (Bixby) and female (Kestra) – voices tasked to aid owners, the Galaxy Club reported. Both will support for mobile payments, a feature that is fairly similar to what Siri does for the iPhone.
Aside from mobile payment help, other things that the personal voice assistant may be able to do include giving useful information for users. That includes the weather or even flight time schedules for people on the go.
Aside from that, it is anyone’s guess on what else Samsung can do to make the Samsung Galaxy S8 an interesting buy. Pouring water over an exploding battery row courtesy of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had created a big mess and hopefully such does not come attached to the Samsung Galaxy S8 once it comes out into the open.
