The Steam Awards is something that can give fans an opportunity to nominate and sound off a game that they want to see and “Half-Life 3” seems to be the one most want. While the move isn’t surprising at the least, it does prove the most want a new installment picking up from “Half-Life 2”.
This was proven over at Reddit when one used posted a picture singling out “Half-Life 2” as a game that deserved a sequel. When that post went up, about 700 others placed comments on the thread with each claiming to have done the same, Gaming Bolt reported. Will this convince Steam and Valve to seriously consider making a “Half-Life 3”?
The response from gamers hoping for a “Half-Life 3” could be a gauge but is in no way something that would push Steam or Valve to move forward with a third installment. The only consolation, for now, is that there is a following looking for another first-person shooter game though there is no indication of something brewing for the game last seen in November 2004.
As mentioned in a previous post, the closest that gamers can hold on to was that dish made by hardware engineer Alan Yates. He claims that a small group of AR/VR research team was assembled, leading many to believe that a “Half-Life 3” could seriously be in the works.
Aside from that, there was also that one involving HTC boss Cher Wang who revealed that they were in collaboration with Valve for an alleged “Half-Life” game. It turned out to be a case of misinformation with Wang eventually clearing the air, saying their partnership was not limited to the “Half-Life” franchise, BBC reported.
Valve CEO Gabe Newell and company continue to work on games like “Left 4 Dead” and mentioned that he only way “Half-Life 3” would happen is if some credible script falls on his laps. For now, that hasn’t happened so the wait continues.
