Windows 10 Latest News & Update: Microsoft Develops New Design Language With Project Neon; Redstone 3 To Release Soon?

Microsoft Windows 10 Redstone 3 will sport a new design language that will be released later next year. The tech giant is said to be working on the new design language with its Project NEON.

Microsoft continues to improve its operating system as seen by its Windows Phone OS to Windows 8 and now to Windows 10. The evolution of its design language from Microsoft Design Language 2 or MDL2 in Windows 10 is expected to have a more streamlined design language with Redstone 3. The development is also known as Project NEON.

According to Windows Central, Microsoft has been working with its Project NEON for over a year. The project aims to develop a design language of Windows 10 that will overhaul the user interface of the operating system. It will add needed flair to the UI aside from its known simplicity and clean look.

Microsoft's Project NEON sports more animations and transitions with the goal of making the user interface look stunning. Rumors said that Project NEON is best described as "very fluid, lots of motion and nice transitions," which will be seen in Windows 10.

In addition, Project NEON's user interface will use holographic and augmented reality (AR) to bridge the Windows 10 desktop environment. Also, the project will include use textures, 3D models and lighting for its UI, the information on how Microsoft will do it is still unknown, Digital Trends reported.

The target of Project NEON in unifying the Windows 10 operating system across all devices is sketchy, according to MSPowerUser. The holographic and augmented reality is too complex that Microsoft needs to work hard to make sure that HoloLens interactions will work flawlessly with a PC.

Meanwhile, there is no detailed information about the Project NEON aside from the user interface and design language. However, it is rumored that the project will be seen on Redstone 3 later in 2017, while Redstone 4 is expected in 2018. As of the moment, Windows 10 Creators Update is slowly releasing now through Windows Insider Program.
