Stretching out your Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon experience

Personally, I was quite sad when I had done all I could in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and my adventure was completed. As cyber soldier Rex "Power" Colt, I had flipped off countless Omega Force troopers, hunted the island's animals close to extinction, collected all the VHS tapes, made 8-bit love to Dr. Darling, and ridden a blood dragon into the very heart of Colonel Sloan's fortress. Short of running around the island, there wasn't a whole lot left to do. With all the gameplay that made Far Cry 3 a candidate for game of the year, meshed with a great sense of humor, and countless references to movies and pop culture from the late 80's to the mid-90's, Blood Dragon was one of the best examples of a DLC I may have ever seen, especially when you consider it was standalone, and you didn't need a copy of Far Cry 3 to play it. Obviously, I didn't want it to be over so quickly. Now, Ubisoft is offering an option for players who want to keep the game going.

Blood Dragon has since been patched with an option allowing players to reset the captured Garrisons (outposts), giving players a little bit more gameplay for their buck. It's not much, but it's something. You can update the DLC from your preferred console network, Xbox Live, PSN, etc. Likewise, the Far Cry 3 map editor also got some Blood Dragon items recently, so if you're tired of what Ubisoft has to offer, head online and see if some other Far Cry 3 players are a bit more creative. Only catch is you'll need Far Cry 3 to play around with the new items on the editor.

Now, if you've yet to give Blood Dragon a try, you now have no excuse not to play it. The DLC became the fastest selling downloadable title in DLC history, and is easily worth both your time and money. If you want more ramblings on it, you can check out our review of the DLC here.
