Anthony Michael Hall Charged With Assault, Could Face Up To 7 Years In Jail

Actor Anthony Michael Hall, best known for 80's teen films The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Weird Science, has been charged with assault and could face up to 7 years in prison if convicted.  Due to alleged special circumstances, the 4 year maximum jail term was increased to 7 years.

According to reports from TMZ, the Los Angeles County District Attorney charged Anthony Michael Hall with felony battery with serious bodily injury stemming from an incident that occurred last September in the actor's Playa Del Rey apartment complex in Los Angeles.

Just last September, Anthony Michael Hall, 48, was involved in an incident wherein the actor allegedly shoved a man, apparently his neighbor, during a confrontation.  The argument between Anthony Michael Hall and the neighbor started when the neighbor left the condo gate open.  This apparently led to the actor shouting at the neighbor to shut the gate close.  Anthony Michael Hall then proceeded to close the gate himself.   The incident was caught on surveillance video.

In the grainy video, Anthony Michael Hall is seen walking through the apartment complex with a man, his neighbor, following right behind him.  Anthony Michael Hall then turned around and faced the man following him.

They appeared to be arguing when all of a sudden Anthony Michael Hall violently shoved the man to the ground.  The actor then walked off towards his apartment.  The man got up and again followed Anthony Michael Hall to his apartment.  After a while, the man was seen heading back to his apartment.  The man allegedly suffered a broken wrist and a back injury.  After the incident, the man reportedly called the police.

Anthony Michael Hall started his showbiz career in commercials when he was just 7 years old.  He was the Honeycomb Cereal kid and he also appeared in commercials for several toys and the chocolate bar Bounty.  Anthony Michael Hall caught the attention of John Hughes when he played the role of Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo's son, Rusty Griswold, in the film National Lampoon's Vacation.  He was then cast in John Hughes' teen flick Sixteen Candles where he had his breakout role and went on to star in other John Hughes films like The Breakfast Club and Weird Science.

This isn't the first time that Anthony Michael Hall got in trouble with his neighbors.  Back in 2011, Anthony Michael Hall reportedly scared neighbors by shouting profanities and challenging them into fights.
