John Cena has yet to make his return to the WWE scene though many are expecting the 39-year-old icon to get back into the ring soon. He is currently busy with other commitments, last seen in that Triple Threat match involving champion AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose at WWE No Mercy back in October.
John Cena was more of an aid to help spice up the Styles vs. Ambrose feud, using the angle of tying Ric Flair’s 16 world titles as his case. As everyone knows, Styles came out of that one as champion and Cena eventually going on his expected hiatus, WWE.com reported.
John Cena could have been one of the key leaders for team SmackDown had he been available for WWE Survivor Series. Team Blue did win but somehow there was a spark missing from the representatives.
Noticeable was the hatred of Ambrose and Styles, something that will once again be settled at WWE TLC on Dec. 4. WWE fans are slowly growing tired of it and a new feud may be best to help out interest.
John Cena is seen to be a good fixture, possibly rekindling his rivalry with Styles. He could appear at WWE TLC and get involved in the ‘tables, ladders and chairs’ match, taking aim at either. But what about a Dean Ambrose feud?
Rather than see John Cena vs. AJ Styles once more, Dean Ambrose could be an interesting storyline. They could slug it out to determine who gets to face Styles for the title, a respite from the recurring feud that has become less interesting.
John Cena doesn’t need a title to help out SmackDown, seeing how he is already an established personality in the WWE. The fact is that his spunk is needed, something that current wrestling stars have failed to raise, Forbes reported.
