A lot of comments both positive and negative surrounded Disney-Pixar's teaser trailer of "Cars 3". The nerve-racking "Cars 3" preview staged a city circuit race. In the trailer, Lightning McQueen skidded and lost control of his front wheel during the race, which in turn caused him to flip over. Before the car shattered to the ground, the video concluded with the tag line "From this moment, everything will change."
In John Lasseter's conversation with E Weekly a few months before, he mentioned that new characters will appear in the third franchise of "Cars". He also described that more emotions will be poured into the sequel. Unlike the second movie, which was fun and quirky and brought a lot of laughs to the viewer due to Mater's playfulness, the thir installment, "Cars 3", will have a more serious angle to the story. In "Cars 3", McQueen is able to empathize with Doc Hudson after he lost the prestigious cup.
A couple of characters will debut in "Cars 3" namely, Cruz Ramirez, a young Hispanic Female car racer and Jackson Storm, a rookie race car. Cruz Ramirez is represented by a sleek, yellow race car who will coach McQueen on new tricks to keep up with the younger crowd. According to reports, McQueen will experience the same emotional spiral that Doc Hudson underwent in the first movie. After the accident, McQueen would question himself and his abilities in racing. He would also be taunted by the new generations of race cars, headed by Jackson Storm, to retire. At first he is inclined to give up, but his ever supportive sidekick, Mater, and other friends from Radiator Spring would help him realize that he can still follow his passion in racing while learning new techniques from an unexpected source. McQueen would undergo rigorous training session with Ramirez in preparation for Florida 500, the major race in the movie.
McQueen's faithful side kick, Mater and girlfriend, Sally would be making a comeback in the movie. "Cars 3" would be traveling to different places around the US that gives importance to racing history. The Route 66 and Route 99 in California will also be featured and highlighted in the movie. "Cars 3" will be making a pit stop in theaters on June 16, 2017.
