Little has been known on what Microsoft plans for its Surface Pro line and the word out right now is that the company could be releasing the Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Phone together in early 2017. This has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft but is, by all means, welcome if true.
Both the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Phone are devices many are eager to see. Last month, a previous report here on GameNGuide suggested the possibility of seeing the Surface Pro 5 coming out at an event that never transpired. This was a Windows 10 event that included the Surface 4 and the Surface Book.
Now, the claims have shifted to a potential February 2017 release which is unofficial. While it doesn’t hurt to expect, this should be by no means taking nothing more than a grain of salt.-
Surface Pro 5 expectations
With nothing certain, many are eager to see the successor of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 which has been out for over a year now. The processor to be used is being debated though most are expecting the company to use Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processors.
Aside from the processor, most are anticipating the Surface Pro 5 to come out with a Surface Pen, support for USB-C and something that can support 4K or 5K display.
Surface Phone theories
In another previous post, there were various takes on what Microsoft could do to arm its alleged Surface Phone. Among the speculated features include an OLED screen and something armed with fingerprint security.
It could be armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset (at the least), 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage by default. The rumored Surface Phone could come out in three variants, the difference of which would be the RAM count and internal storage options.
