Steam's latest holiday sale is in full effect. The Steam Autumn Sale is now offering great discounts on a 13,457 games, giving online shoppers an early treat this holiday season.
Notable among the sale is the Game of the Year edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The open-world RPG game will include all its DLC with a 40% discount. The impressive shooter game Doom is also on sale with 67 percent trimmed off its price. Another massive game that is on sale is the rebooted Lara Croft game, Rise of the Tomb Raider, which graces your shopping carts with a whopping 50 percent discount.
The sale is not only limited to digital games and software. Hardware is very much a sure bargain, as the Steam Link, which streams games from your PC to your TV via an in-home network, has a 60 percent discount and can be purchased for just the very low price of £15.99. Known for being an unorthodox joypad, the Steam Controller has 30 percent slashed off its price and can be purchased for just £27.99. You can also opt to purchase both these awesome devices in a bundle for just £39.58.
These prices and offers certainly look to be great, but don't expect any flash sales that offering discounts beyond the listed prices, according to Wired. Valve seems to have been pretty adamant at removing the practice which used to be a tradition for Steam sales, and had consumers and gamers religiously refreshing the store pages every eight hours. Instead, each day, a selection of sale titles is highlighted.
The Autumn Sale occurs with the start of the first player-nominated Steam Awards, where the gamer community can nominate any game in the Steam catalog for an award, in nine categories. The games can be be nominated via their store pages. Nominating a game for an award during the sale will earn users' accounts with a Steam Badge. There are also other achievement to be earned for your Steam account during the Autumn Sale. The Steam Awards will take place in December.
