While fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of "The Originals" Season 4, they may have to wait a little longer as the original January air date has been pushed back. However, there are some good news, as several characters from "The Vampire Diaries" are confirmed to appear on the show.
Air Date Pushed Back
"The Originals" Season 4 was originally slated to debut on January 2017. However, the CW had announced that this will be pushed back to March 2017, effectively replacing "The Vampire Diaries" once it concludes on March 10.
Crossover Characters
Fret not though, as fans will be treated with a few character crossovers. Matt Davis, who plays the character of Alaric Saltzman on "The Vampire Diaries," is set to appear in an episode of "The Originals" Season 4. It has been hinted that Alaric will be looking for Elijah (Daniel Gillies), for him to deliver a priceless artifact.
Nina Dobrev is also slated to appear on "The Originals" Season 4. However, the actress will not be playing Elena Gilbert, but a Petrova doppelganger named Tatia. It has also been reported that Zach Roerig, who plays Matt Donovan, will be remaining as a crossed over character for "The Originals" Season 4. Other characters from "The Vampire Diaries" that crossed over to "The Originals" include Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley).
Love Above All-Caroline, Klaus and Hope.
Another crossover that would surely be a memorable one for the fans of "The Originals" Season 4 is Caroline Forbes, portrayed by Candice King. She is said to help Klaus in healing from the Tunde Blade. However, the show may disappoint some fans as Caroline's appearance will not rekindle her romance with Klaus.
Hope Mikaelson, the daughter of Klaus, would now be a grown-up in "The Originals" Season 4. She is then set to save her father from his troubles, especially when he needs her the most.
