Total Domination: Reborn is one of the newest iOS-based MMO strategy titles developed by Plarium Global Ltd. The game’s web version boasts over 30 million installs with Reborn being a standalone mobile game completely independent from the web version.
The game starts off pretty neatly but the problems arrive as soon as you’ve a played a few levels and spent quite a bit of time on the game. The most basic problem is that the game automatically becomes too mechanical to handle and starts feeling like a basic MMO that you don’t really want to spend money on. But Reborn is definitely worth a one-time play.
To be perfectly honest, the game does take a bit of understanding until you finally hit upon the right set of controls and start understanding everything found on that small phone screen of yours. On a similar note, the official description for the game sates: “Civilization has fallen, and war is now the only world-order. Rise from the ashes of the wasteland, take command, form your clan and begin your quest towards Total Domination!”
“For the first time, the popular Total Domination franchise has been extended to iOS as a standalone epic adventure, featuring all new groundbreaking graphics and gameplay.”
As expected for a game such as this, it’s quite important to understand the basics of research, constructions, gathering of different resources and also raiding encampments before you begin playing the game and set up your own base.
While some structures are essential for producing soldiers and other combat units, others are essential for gathering materials that will be needed as the game progresses. Attacking other enemy units may also seem a bit user friendly with players just needing to select a base to attack with whichever kinds of soldiers they wish to use and then waiting for an in-game timer to tick down.
Apart from this, there’s also a lot of emphasis on forming alliances with other players with the option of even turning Facebook friends into cyborg warriors who will side with the player. Basically, the looting in the game may also seem a bit evolved compared to others in the same genre.
One of the biggest highlights of the game is how good it looks. The devs have worked on offering detailed visuals with some pretty cool looking weapons and impressive soldier units that look something out of a sci-fi movie. And all this is supported by the game’s internal engine which remains quite solid throughout the campaign.
While we are not asking you to expect a game that will rise above the ordinary and give you the greatest gameplay experience ever for a MMO, but there is no need to be that harsh on the game and is definitely worth the time spent (provided you can handle its extreme mechanical gameplay).
