3 Doors Down Latest News & Update Matt Roberts Dies at 38, Medical Malpractice To Blame For His Death?

Three months after the death of Matt Roberts, who was best known as a former guitarist for the rock band 3 Doors Down, Wisconsin police arrested a physician by the name of Dr. Richard Snellgrove for his connection to the musician's death last August. The doctor is believed to have caused the death of the musician.

Matt Roberts was found dead in a hotel room in Wisconsin ahead of a charity event that he was planning to play in August after an apparent prescription drug related overdose as reported by TMZ. In an effort to shed light on this unfortunate incident, local police worked with authorities particularly, the Mobile Alabama Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the US Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Alabama.

The investigation revealed the prescription drugs that caused the untimely passing of the 38-year-old Matt Roberts. The drugs were obtained from a physician in Fairhope Alabama which in this case, presumably came from Dr. Richard Snellgrove. In line with this, on November 16, Dr. Richard Snellgrove was charged with illegal distribution of drugs in connection to death of the guitarist.

In a statement released by Darrell Roberts in Fox 6 when asked about the death of his son, Matt Roberts, he says that he feels no sense of satisfaction despite the arrest of Snellgrove. In fact, he does not feel anything at all. He is aware that medical malpractices is an issue in the medical community all over the United States.

According to the US Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Alabama, Dr. Snellgrove prescribed controlled substances using many names of different individuals knowing and intending that the controlled substances would go to Roberts. There were five prescriptions for methadone, hydrocodone, loraxepam and fentanyl. These prescriptions were written outside the usual course of professional practice and not available for a legitimate medical purpose.
