‘Gran Turismo Sport’ Release Date, News & Update: Racing Title Launch Moved To 2017, Comes With 4K HDR 60FPS Display, Other Features

"Gran Turismo Sport" release date might arrive at a later date than expected. However, the slightly disappointing news was offset by a very positive reveal about the upcoming racing title - it will come loaded with awesome features.

'Gran Turismo Sport' Release Date Moved

Since the "Gran Turismo Sport" was introduced in the 2015 Paris Games Week, gamers have been looking forward to finally getting the hands on Polyphony Digital's thirteenth title of the long-running franchise. And it is not hard to understand why. The upcoming racing title is touted to be the first of the new generation or new era titles to be introduced in the "Gran Turismo" franchise.

Initially, gamers were looking forward to the highly anticipated "Gran Turismo Sport" beta which was then rumored to happen in the early half of 2016. This was deemed as enough time for any adjustments that may be necessary after the beta testing phase with the "GT Sport" release date scheduled a little later on November 15, 2016.

However, the planned "GT Sport" beta early this year was scrapped along with the move of its launch to a much later date. For now, the "Gran Turismo Sport" release date is tentatively scheduled to arrive by 2017, though a definite date is yet to be announced, reports Alphr.

For those who have made preorders before the announced 2017 move of the "Gran Turismo Sport" release date, Sony is cancelling all pre-orders and refunding those who made the purchase. Sony already sent messages notifying gamers who have made pre-orders of the upcoming racing title informing them of its cancellation.

The title is capable of dishing dynamic 4K, HDR, 60 frames per second displays in wide color support and 18 GB VPS uncompressed stream. Translated into casual gamer lingo, it could only mean one thing - smoother and seamless visuals for an unforgettable racing experience, probably the closest thing to a real race that gamers could ever get.

'Gran Turismo Sport' Supports PS VR

But the upcoming racing title does not stop there. Gamers who wish for an even more immersive gameplay just got their prayers answered as "Gran Turismo Sport" will also be playable in the PS VR console.

Yamauchi is a bit coy when revealing details about its PS VR specs. However, he beamed when revealing that "The tracks are very interesting in VR," adding that gamers will be able to explore the interior of the cars they will be using when playing "Gran Turismo Sport" release date arrives next year.
