Roman Reigns is believed to be getting another push at the Universal title of Kevin Owens and all that could materialize soon. It could be at the next pay-per-view though installing the “Big Dog” as champion once more could be risky.
The WWE creative team is likely weighing in on that meaning he may or may not be the next WWE Universal champion. A third pawn has been inserted into the mix – Braun Strowman.
If so, it will not be the first time that Reigns and Strowman have crossed paths. Everyone knows how both got it on when the Wyatt Family feuded with Reigns and Dean Ambrose. That storyline didn’t really prove anything but the scenario right now is different.
Reigns and Strowman last teamed up for team Raw at WWE Survivor Series and both seemed to have worked well. But with the Survivor Series over and done with, new storylines could include Owens recruiting Strowman as one of his henchmen.
In that scenario, Strowman could be Owens (and Jericho) insurance to make sure that the Universal title does not change hands. Once that happens, the storyline immediately shifts to a Regins vs. Strowman feud that could carry all the way to Wrestlemania 33, Cageside Seats reported.
From the looks of it, this could be an alternative seeing that Reigns continues to get booed and jeered despite being relegated the United States title picture. Also, there is a chance that Finn Balor could be ready by that time.
Balor was the first Universal champion but a torn labrum injury sidelined the “Demon King”. He is currently rehabbing but is expected to be up and about by the time Wrestlemania 33 comes around, Bleacher Report reported.
If not Reigns, the WWE may opt to feature a Balor vs. Owens card instead. If the boos are to be considered, it certainly accounts for a better matchup unless the WWE fans finally go easy on Roman Reigns.
