Series Nintendo should bring back that’s not Starfox or F-Zero

Last week, Nintendo's most cherished game designer Shigeru Miyamoto crushed the hearts of many F-Zero and Star Fox fans when he mentioned how unsure he is of the series future outside of eluding that it would be internally developed.

"I think where I struggle is that I don't really have a good idea for what's new that we could bring to F-Zero that would really turn it into a great game again," Miyamoto said to IGN. "Obviously in the past we've tried to work with other companies, where we've let them develop games for us in franchises like Star Fox and F-Zero, but the more we think about it, the more we prefr to be able to create those games internally, on our own."

Though F-Zero and Star Fox are favorites to Nintendo's older diehard fans mainly due to both series' more mature nature, there are other great series that have yet to be resurrected.

Wave Race

The Wave Race series started as an amusing title released on Nintendo's Game Boy but truly didn't come into its own until WaveRace 64. Not only was it he best launch title for the N64 that wasn't Super Mario 64, but one of the console's greatest visual showpiece. Wave Race 64 featured the best water physics of any fifth generation console game. It's Gamecube sequel Wave Race Blue Storm evolved the formula but didn't have the same bite. Now that Nintendo has gone fully into the HD era, Nintendo could deliver a game that can really show off what the Wii U could do graphically.

Uniracers

Uniracers was just one of the best titles released for Nintendo's SNES console before it died off. Set on a 2D plane, the game was just a wild racer with an interesting trick system. It was developed by DMA Design who would later go on to create the now iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise. Ironically, DMA Design would later be sued by Pixar from allegedly copying their unicycle design forcing Nintendo to stop production on cartridges.

Battle Clash

It's well known that Battle Clash was the main reason people loved Nintendo's bazooka like Super Scope light gun for the SNES. Battle Clash is essentially a light gun shooter based around mechs. Allegedly in the future, control of over the earth is decided through Battle Games and are fought through these mechs creatively called Standing Tanks. I'm sure Nintendo can figure out a way to bring this over to the Wii U or 3DS.

Urban Champion

Subversively, Urban Champion's gameplay predates Nintendo's "stage knock off" mechanics that have become Super Smash Bros. It would be great for a series reboot to spring up soon with a more mature slant in both gameplay and feel.
