A beta build for Nougat for the OnePlus 3 is expected to be made available this month. This simply implies that the final release will be rolled out by the end of this year. Apparently, the One Plus 3 will beat ZTE when it comes to the update game.
OnePlus has finally confirmed that apart from the OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 2 will also be receiving the Nougat update at some point. However, there is no definite date yet as to when the update will be received. But most tech analysts assume that it is unlikely for it to arrive before 2017, according to report.
When it comes to OnePlus X and OnePlus One, both smartphones are not going to see the official Nougat builds. This is because of the units' chipset, which does not support the graphics-related requirements of the latest Android 7.0 operating system.
After the successful launch of the OnePlus 3, the company is again expected to launch another handset next week. This smartphone will be dubbed OnePlus 3T and is expected to run the latest Android Nougat from day one.
Meanwhile, both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will be updated at the same time. According to Android Authority, OnePlus guaranteed that the OnePlus 3 will continue to receive updates alongside the latest flagship OnePlus 3T until the latter reaches the end of its update life cycle. The life cycle, however, is still not clear, but OnePlus has promised to keep its newer-generation smartphones, like the OnePlus 3 updated for longer than its 2014 and 2015 counterparts.
This is a great news for OnePlus 3 owners. This means that it is safe to look forward to seeing newer versions of Android. Unlike the OnePlus 3, the OnePlus One owners will be a bit disappointed as the Nougat will not be available to this handset. Watch ONEPLUS 3 NOUGAT 7 0 VIA CYANOGENMOD 14
