‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Release Date, Latest News & Update: Will the Western Game Setting Still Fit In With Modern Times?

For Rockstar Games, the hard choice is selecting which IP to work on next. As most know by now, that will be “Red Dead Redemption 2” slated for release in the Fall of 2017.

Without question, “Red Dead Redemption 2” is one of the biggest titles to come out from Rockstar Games. It was one of the most sought after sequels, the other being “Grand Theft Auto 6”.

The difference is that while GTA 6 is a long way off, there is “Grand Theft Auto” online that can serve as an alternative. As mentioned in a previous post, 'Easter Eggs' on what to expect for the sixth installment could possibly be outed for the current game offering.

Going back to “Red Dead Redemption 2”, there is now a curious case on whether the choice of having the sequel was better compared to GTA 6. Release dates are of course the reason but what if Rockstar considered the game setting?

As most know, “Red Dead Redemption 2” carries a western-type of a game setting. In the modern age, most have transcended to the futuristic gameplay, leaving some to ponder on whether interest could still be spurred by a western civilization storyline, Neurogadget suggested.

Without question, “Red Dead Redemption” hit it big when it came out seven years ago. But as everyone knows, a lot can change through the years. That said, would this not affect its planned release in 2017? What if it disappoints fans?

The likelihood of that may be low considering most are aware of what “Red Dead Redemption 2” will bring. Hence, it all depends on the script and the features that Rockstar game developers have in mind.

The western may be a thing of the past but its impact is still noticeable. “Red Dead Redemption 1” is proof of that though some (careful) creativity may be needed for the sequel in the Fall of 2017.
