The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, News And Updates: Skyrim Confirmed For Nintendo Switch

Ever since the release of the trailer that announced Nintendo's upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch, gamers have been speculating which games will launch along with it. One of the games featured in the trailer is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has now been confirmed to official according to it's creator Todd Howard.

In an interview with Glixel, Todd Howard has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will indeed be on the Nintendo Switch At E3," he said. "We're definitely going to be supporting it. It's the first time we've done something on Nintendo. If you don't count the old NES stuff."

He also praised Nintendo's newest console, the Nintedo Switch calling it "probably the best demo Ive ever seen This is a step in the right direction for Nintedo as their last console, the Wii U, was severly lacking in 3rd party games. ." The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch, will now be one of the largest role playing games on a portable console offering players a sprawling world to exploring and hundreds of hours of gameplay.

When the trailer showcased the Nintendo Switch last October, several games, some of which were 3rd party developers,were shown playable on the upcoming console. But as long as there are no official announcements on these games, fans must not jump into conclusions.

One of the games featured was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, considered as one of largest and iconic role playing games of the last console generation. And with Nintendo's recent history with 3rd party developers during Nintedo's run with the Wii U, with the console releasing a majority of its games from 1st party developers, fans were doubtful. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim might not be released on the Nintendo Switch contrary to what the trailer has shown.

Bethesda, developer of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is now currently enjoying the success of Skyrim Special Edition on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is a remaster of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with better resolution, smoother frames per second and updated textures.
