Chrissy Teigen suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at the 2016 American Music Awards (AMA). The award show was held on Nov. 20, Sunday. The model chose a black backless gown with thigh-high slits under which she could not wear underwear. However, she ended up exposing more than just the sides of her thighs. But, Chrissy has managed to brush aside all criticism with her humorous response.
The Yousef Akbar gown Chrissy Teigen wore featured a slit which went up to her ribcage, as per Inquisitr. The black gown was backless too. To prevent exposing her private parts the design used two gold safety pins. However, as the day was breezy, it was hard to cover. The model placed her box clutch tactically but she ended up flashing everything at the camera. Every time Chrissy Teigen tried to move, her gown would open up exposing her nether region.
Critics called Chrissy Teigen's dress inappropriate and "unladylike". But the 30-year-old had tackled criticism with her humor and wit. She tweeted, "I am pretty sure you could clearly see I'm a lady." The model then apologized to those who were harmed mentally and physically for the wardrobe malfunction.
On Monday afternoon, Chrissy Teigen took to the Instagram and thanked everyone responsible for her look. She continued to joke about the gown and thanked the laser hair removal center, SEVE Laser Aesthetic, for ensuring that there was nothing else to be seen when the wind blew.
According to CBS News the new mom not only posed on the red carpet with that daring dress, she introduced her husband's performance of his new song on the AMA's stage. During the announcement, she called her husband "a brilliant musician" and "a wonderful father".
Chrissy Teigen was confident all throughout the event and tackled the critics with her humor. The model accessorized her gown with gold bangle bracelets, a black and gold clutch bag and black strappy stilettos.
