Telltale Games announced that "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier," the third season in the series, will launch worldwide on Dec. 20, 2016. A new trailer and new art from "A New Frontier" were also featured by the game developer.
IGN revealed that on December 20, the first episode of "A New Frontier" will be digitally available for $4.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, iOS, Android and PC. The "A New Frontier" Season Pass will also be available for $24.99, which gives access to all five episodes of the third season, as these are released.
"A New Frontier" players can purchase a physical copy of the title on Feb. 7, 2017. Telltale Games will also feature a Season Pass disc that includes the first episode and access to episodes 2 to 5 as these become available. The disc will be available for $29.99 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Interested players may now pre-order the disc.
Engadget stated that "A New Frontier" is set four years after the start of the zombie outbreak. The story features Javier, a young man looking for his family in the ruins of society. He meets Clementine, the star of the series, who is much older, wiser and tougher, and the two embark on a journey together.
According to Telltale Games, the story will showcase situations where every choice that "A New Frontier" players make could be their last. Telltale stated that in "A New Frontier," the characters will only have their family left to protect.
"A New Frontier" is the latest installment in the series, after two full seasons of "The Walking Dead." The game developer also featured the "400 Days" DLC and the the "Michonne" miniseries.
Telltale Games featured the initial details of "A New Frontier" at E3 2016, and showcased the first poster at Comic-Con. The official title was revealed at PAX, and a new teaser was recently presented, showing the two protagonists.
"A New Frontier" fans will see the extended gameplay at The Game Awards later in November. More updates and details on "A New Frontier" are expected soon.
