"Marco Polo" Season 3 has yet to be announced by the production team and Netflix; however, several reports are circulating that the series' third run will happen next year. According to reports, fans will see Hundred Eyes, who is played by Tom Wu, as the new protagonist in Season 3 following the death of Kublai Khan, played by Benedict Wong.
According to reports, Wong had already decided not to return in "Marco Polo" Season 3 as he will try to pursue bigger roles. The actor is said to be focusing on his role in the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe film "Doctor Strange." There were speculations suggesting that Wong's commitment to "Doctor Strange" was one of the biggest factors why the second season of "Marco Polo" was delayed.
Although the Netflix and the rest of the production team have yet to confirm the reports, rumor has it that Wong's character will get axed in "Marco Polo" Season 3 as he requested to exit the Netflix show. Viewers of the series might witness a terrifying death of Kublai Khan once the new season comes back to the web.
In another report by Game N Guide, Wong's departure in "Marco Polo" Season 3 is not yet final as the actor is still negotiating with the production company with regard to his contract. Apparently, Wong is asking for a higher salary to continue playing his role as Kublai Khan. Netflix is expected to make an announcement anytime soon with regard to the future of the show.
Meanwhile, the production team has to do everything that they can to improve the quality of the "Marco Polo" Season 3 as the previous runs both received negative review in Rotten Tomatoes, which gave the series 24 percent rating. Fans are definitely hoping to see all the major characters back in the show for another season; however, the possibility of the show being cancelled is still just around the corner.
