Last Sunday at the American Music Awards 2016, two award-winning singer vocals, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj brought some serious sex appeal as they performed their latest collaboration "Side to Side". With the beach theme and shirtless dancers, the two superstars got the crowd moving with their sexy tune and brought sexual undertones to their racy performance. Ariana Grande handed over the performance to Nicki Minaj who was sitting on a throne.
Their "Side to Side" special number raised the eyebrows of some viewers when Minaj raps the lyrics, "This the new style with the fresh type of flow / Wrist icicle, ride [expletive] bicycle / Come true yo, get you this type of blow / If you wanna Minaj, I got a tricycle."
Ariana Grande told MTV News last August "That whole song is about riding leading to soreness". Musician Jack Antonoff, the boyfriend of Lena Dunham explained that the song is all about getting railed so hard that you can't walk. Dunham tweeted "SO MANY EMOTIONZ" as Grande replied her with emojis.
The two talented ladies both performed four times at AMA stage. For Ariana Grande, her first was last 2013 with "The Way" and "Tattoed Heart" and again in 2014 with "Bang, Bang" and "Love Me harder". She sang her hit single "Focus" in 2015. As for Nicki Minaj, she performed her song "Sweat", 'Turn Me On" and "Super Bass" with David Guetta in 2011. It was followed by "Freedom" in 2012. And lastly, "Bed Of Lies" and "Bang Bang" collaboration with Ariana Grande in 2014.
A three-time AMA Nominee, Ariana Grande claimed the highest award, Artist of the Year 2016. While Nicki Minaj is a six-time AMA winner and eight-time nominee. Furthermore, "Side to Side" peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It was definitely the hottest song of the 23-year old pop artist.
